In the lead-up to the 33rd European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBCE), that took place in Valencia, Spain, from 9 to 12 June 2025, a high-level International Roundtable on Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) was held on Sunday, 8 June 2025.

This invitation-only gathering brought together delegations from the European Union, Canada, China, India, and the United States, with observers from Brazil. Designed as a strategic and informal forum, the Roundtable fostered exchange among government officials, industry leaders, technology developers, and research experts committed to advancing the global SAF agenda.

Building on the momentum of the 2024 Tripartite meeting, this expanded format reflects a growing recognition of the need for international collaboration to accelerate the deployment of sustainable aviation fuels. Discussions focused on critical enablers including policy frameworks, market development, financing strategies, and technological innovation.

Participants included representatives from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the International Energy Agency (IEA), Ministry of Natural Resources of Canada, the Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE), the US and Chinese SAF Industry and the European Commission.
